West Haven – A final wish to be buried in the Marine dress blue uniform was made possible thanks to the efforts of the Fisher House manager and her father.

The family of former Staff Sgt. Constantine “Gus” Cocoltchos were guests at the Fisher House when they shared with Amanda Salthouse (Fisher House Manager) Gus’s wish to be buried in dress blues. His dress uniform along with many of his belongings were stored in a barn and buried when the barn collapsed.
Amanda is the daughter of a Marine and shared this request with her father. Mark Morin, former National Commander of the Franco-American War Veterans, contacted the Marine Corps League with the request for a dress uniform with the proper rank insignia and medals.
On July 12, the uniform was presented to Gus.
“When a Marine is given a mission, they do not stop until that mission is accomplished,” said Morin.
And, this was a mission that Morin said he wasn’t going to give up on until it was accomplished.
